Look book - brightening up

Politics or no politics, it never hurts to be well dressed regardless of whether you are battling over May forecast with Atlanta Proof and Check site or discussing the Utah Senator's proposal to eliminate 12th grade.

I have actually worn this outfit before - in its winter incarnation with black fishnets and high-heel oxfords. This is the spring version. The collared faux-wraparound teal dress is from Target as are the peep-toe stacked heel Mary Janes.

The jacket is a gift from a friend bought on eBay. The earrings are abalone from my Chimney Rock, NC earrings and bracelet set. The watch is marcasite filigree dress watch from Victorian Trading - a gift from my grandmother-in-law. The necklace is my own creation - test-driving the Abstract Blue piece from the Beautiful Glass collection growing rapidly on Pyrography M.

All in all this worked out really well. The jacket kept me cool in the morning and went well with my brown leather laptop back, but could be tossed off once at the office. The shoes are pretty tall, but because of the stacked heels the running around is actually not bad at all. And the dress is super-comfortable and soft - a little short for me, but not too much so.
