Men often shy away from colors. Either they are just not sure what colors work for them (and can't be persuaded to try things on and find out), or they are convinced that wearing colors other than white, blue, gray and black is gay.
Well, here is what one can do with the two most basic colors in the book: black and brown (matching cat not included).
The key point about this outfit is that everything fits properly - not too tight and not baggy. The pieces: brown pants, black shirt, corduroy jacket with black and brown "cords" as well as all of the accessories were all bought in different places at different times. Nevertheless, it all works well together, because the colors coordinate. Notice, not "match" - "coordinate".
What breaks up the dark color scheme and gives the look a bit of a "pop" are the accessories, namely the tie and the pocket square. The tie has both of the primary colors of the outfit: black and brown - as well as some silvery gray, which coordinates with the silk pocket square in the same shade of gray.
