Look book - fun and games

There is nothing wrong with being classic and even slightly conservative. But what's wrong with being that - with just a bit of a twist? This is one of the most fun outfits I put together in quite some time, and I was very pleased with the way it came together.

So, we start with a very basic piece - a classic charcoal gray skirt with a bit of a flare-out at the hem. It is paired with another classic piece - a ruffled puff-sleeve top (ok, it's actually a one-piece), but not in a classic color: it is not black, it is not white - it is turquoise. Color management is important here. Paired with a black skirt, the vibrant top would have gone quite flat. But the gray is a softer, gentler combination, still creating a nice contrast with the turquoise but not stripping it of depth and subtlety.

Playful modern earrings in shades of turquoise don't necessarily match the top exactly, but they do coordinate with it.

Things truly go south at the hose - pale bluish-gray with an unstructured floral motif. We then return to the classic vibe with high-heeled Mary Janes in very conservative tweed.
