Mama Masha's kitchen - quick hits - things to do with sour cream

1. Whip it. If you love sour cream, but are concerned about the amount of fat, use half the amount and whip it - just a quick beating with a whisk will suffice.

2. Make a dip. Sour cream takes on other flavors very well. Mix it with some spices and herbs for a delicious veggie or cracker dip. My favorite combinations:

- Rosemary, thyme and parsley.

- Onion powder and ground pepper.

- Chives and smoked salt.

3. Make a dessert. Whip the sour cream, mix with one of the following combos, or invent your own, and serve over vanilla wafers, gourmet cookies, or brownies. Works the same way as using it for savory snacks, just with different additives:

- Vanilla and lemon extracts.

- Cocoa.

- Espresso sugar.

- Strawberry syrup.
